The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the provisional results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates in Ghana. This highly anticipated announcement brings relief to the thousands of students who sat for the exam.


Accessing Your Results

To check your results, visit the WAEC website at (https://www.waecgh.org). Heads of schools will also receive login details to access their students' results. Be cautious of fraudsters who may promise to upgrade your results for a fee, as WAEC results are secure and can be authenticated using the results verification system ¹.


Performance Statistics

A total of 460,611 candidates, comprising 212,954 males and 247,657 females from 1003 schools, entered for the examination. This represents a 2.66% increase from the 2023 entry figure of 448,674. Unfortunately, 4,609 (1.0%) candidates were absent from the examination ¹.


Key Highlights from the Results

  • 317,701 candidates (69.52%) obtained Grades A1-C6 in the core subjects.
  • 26,872 (5.88%) candidates failed in English Language.
  • 27,816 (6.10%) candidates failed in Core Mathematics.
  • 32,489 (7.12%) candidates failed in Integrated Science.
  • 43,570 (9.55%) candidates failed in Social Studies.
